The concept of social capital has been developed since the mid-1990s, by means of an
extensive scientific literature with a diversity of perspectives under the premise that it is
present between the relationships of people and is coordinated to facilitate collective
action. In this sense, the objective of this article is to analyze Social Capital as a tool for
Sustainable Human Development, weaving social networks that lead from the local to the
encounter of global human development. Starting from the construction of values, civic
awareness and social commitment, under a climate of trust, with the premise that social
capital involves people with social responsibility and civic duty.
