VIII.- Sociocultural theory.
Keywords:
Learning, Development, Vygotsky, Social interaction, Zone of proximal developmentAbstract
It is mainly represented by Vygotsky, who considers learning as one of the fundamental mechanisms of development. In his opinion, the best teaching is that which anticipates development. The author explains that the learning model that he provides, the context occupies a central place. Social interaction becomes the engine of development. He likewise introduces the concept of 'zone of proximal development' which is the distance between the actual level of development and the level of potential development. Paraphrasing what was expressed by the author, for the child's learning to be effective, the cultural reality or social reality and the child's capacity in terms of modeling or imitation must be present.
This theory is related to the object of the research since at the primary level, children's school learning generally occurs at a collective level with teachers and parents who facilitate learning, being in this case knowledgeable about the use of techniques to the making of clay crafts since most of them come from the community.
