Abstract

The article is the product of research, its purpose was to evaluate the soft skills of university students, case: Universidad Valle del Momboy, in order to obtain elements aimed at improving the academic training of the Business Administration and Public Accounting careers of the Faculty of Economic, Administrative and Management Sciences. The research was of the applied type with a quantitative approach. The population and sample consisted of 83 students enrolled in the last quarters of both careers (Trimesters 9 and 10). The data collection technique was the survey, while the data collection instrument was the questionnaire, with closed-answer questions whose alternatives are based on the Likert scale. Among the conclusions, it indicates a great acceptance of the application and development of interpersonal, cognitive and emotional skills by students during the course of their academic training, however, the university must encourage its teachers to incorporate experiential activities and application of projects for the resolution of business conflicts that are seen daily, since employers demand workers with leadership, teamwork, commitment and responsibility in addition to their technical knowledge.
