Learning unit as an introduction to first year english of general media education

The proposal of a learning unit, has its central attention in introducing students of the sixth (6th) grade of Basic Education Level (BEL), in the learning of English, as preparation for the first year of General Media Education (GME), in public schools, of the Venezuelan context; specifically, the National School Cristóbal Mendoza, Kilometer 17, Parroquia El Progreso, La Ceiba Municipality of Trujillo State. The present article enters the modality of Educational Proposal; through a feasible project, with non-experimental field design. For that purpose, a diagnosis was made to teachers of this institution who recognize the importance of this language for the instruction of students and show willingness to teach it. In this sense, the data provided emphasize the need to facilitate basic notions in English, in primary education, for a better student performance, when taking it as a required subject in the subsequent educational level.
