Nation and Culture

Abstract

Because it is a document of incalculable value on the topic of identity and cultural creation, we selected a chapter from the book: “Memory and Identity: Conversations on the Edge of Two Millennia” by Pope John Paul II: Nation and Culture. In this sense, the author points out that in Genesis we find the first and most complete definition of human culture: “Grow and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it”, since, according to John Paul II “subduing the earth means discovering and confirming “the truth of the human being himself, of that humanity that men and women share in equal measure.”
