JGH, since his childhood, was a simple, educated, cultured, kind and hard-working man, although he always went unnoticed at all times. He never assumed leadership positions since deep down in his soul he rejected them, but he was a great contributor, an example for the development of all the initiatives of a work team for the sake of a true born leader, so much so, as a teacher he was founder of the chair of Pathological Anatomy, who held it for 27 years, not counting the chairs of Normal and Pathological Histology, Experimental Physiology and Bacteriology at the UCV. He is considered the promoter and pioneer of scientific and pedagogical teaching in Venezuela, based on explanatory lessons, with observation of vital phenomena, systematized experimentation, vivisection practices and laboratory tests.
