Abstract

This article shows the experience in a business consultancy, evaluating the technical and financial viability of socioeconomic projects in three regions of Venezuela: Apure Guasdualito, Bajo Caura (Aripao-Yekuana) and Cataniapo, in the state of Amazonas. The objective is to empower family productive sectors and improve their quality of life. In Apure Guasdualito, 17 communities grouped into 4 ecclesiastical parishes were visited, where 4 communities were approached. The target population was 90 families, made up of people from different regions, which makes the attitude towards development projects different. These communities depend largely on conucos or small-scale crops and subsist in conditions of poverty. In the Bajo Caura Region, in the Sucre municipality of Bolívar state, Aripao was visited, home to an Afro- descendant community that is dedicated to fishing as a complementary activity to agriculture. In both regions, the presence of small producers whose work is essential for their daily subsistence is observed. In addition, in Apure Guasdualito, the prevalence of the Colombian peso as the most widely circulated currency stands out due to the continuous devaluation of the Bolívar and the dollar. The author highlights the geographical beauty of these regions and the friendliness of its inhabitants, but also highlights the conditions of poverty in which they live and the importance of promoting socioeconomic projects that allow them to improve their quality of life.
