The purpose of the study was to determine the ergonomic conditions of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Engineering of the Valle del Momboy University. The research was descriptive, with a field design, we worked with a population of 17 teachers from the Faculty of Engineering of the Valle del Momboy University, the survey was applied as a technique and two questionnaires were applied as a data collection instrument, the first with a Likert-type scale, consisting of 20 items to obtain information about ergonomic risks, the position and work environment and the Standardized Nordic questionnaire, for the detection of applicable musculoskeletal symptoms in the context of ergonomic. The results showed the safety conditions for teachers, they are satisfactory, they have a clean and tidy work space, as well as the appropriate tools. However, the position and work environment is not optimal due to the furniture, likewise, it has been possible to identify a greater risk in the physical workload, since teachers generally remain in the same position for a long time, reflecting symptoms musculoskeletal, with greater prevalence in the neck and lower back, so it is concluded that the ergonomic conditions of teachers have been affected by the change in work environment with extension of working hours, in this sense it was recommended: train teachers in relation to breaks in the working day, orientation in the organization of work, establishment of flexible work cycles, as well as motivating the performance of physical activities, in the same way the incorporation of adequate furniture and medical support is suggested for the diagnosis and treatment of possible physical disorders.
