Abstract

The present investigation was able to create an intelligent algorithm capable of assisting in the selection process applied to the applicants to be members of the new teaching staff; This intelligent algorithm took the form of an Expert System, said expert system uses a rule-based reasoning, and its main objective is to avoid subjective deviation when making the selection of applicants. For the elaboration of the Expert System based on rules, a documentary revision of the internal regulations that the Valle del Momboy University has to govern the selection of the teaching staff was carried out, and also a revision of the University Law in force at the time of conducting the research .

The Expert System, works as a web application, following the client-server model / architecture, it presents several views: One entry where general information about the requirements and the University is presented, another of a form where the applicant uploads their data, another for the administrator's login and another to manage the applicants. When an applicant completes the form and sends it in the first instance, it is validated, then the inferences rules are applied to determine if the applicant is a valid candidate or not to be a member of the teaching staff. The information provided is stored in a relational database, the inference process is carried out with the help of the CodeIgniter framework, the views are presented with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
