Valle del Momboy University informative website

Abstract

This practical research had the purpose to create and develop an informative website for Valle del Momboy University, placed in Trujillo State, Venezuela. Requirements and specifications were analised as goals. After that, an adequate structure and digital identity were designed and implemented in the institution. Evaluating the former website the institution found a need of staking out the website because the older did not satisfy the expectations of the university community and potential future students. It was not very confortable to look for specific information, so that, students had to go to the university in order to know what they were interested in: specific information or exact news. All this caused the necessity for having a new website confortable, easy to handle, and updated. Thus, it was determined to use “wordexpress” as a contents manager which main characteristic is flexibility. To create this website, Html tag language was used, CSS designing language, and javascript, php, Jquery, framework Bootstrap. The website Mockup had a dynamic and innovative design, it has a menu with the university logo, a main slider, news slider, banner for social nets, and a very complete footer. In the same way, it has a responsive maketa to access at the website from any device. The information was migrated totally from the former website, removing all the one respect to services and facilities not offered by the university any more. On the other hand, it could show that adaptation to these kind of systems allows administration of websites to be more flexible, updated, and personal. However, it was recommended adquisition of new servers, conciliative with modern PHP versions. It is also necessary to adapt this website according to the needs of students as to information and contents. The creation of this new website was very propitious because the institution will have a great divulgation tool to satisfy Valle del Momboy University needs.
