Use of ICT by the digital immigrant journalists of the diary the impulse

Abstract

This paper aimed to analyze the development of digital immigrant journalists regarding the use of ICT in the newspaper El Impulso located in Barquisimeto State Lara. The type of descriptive research with field design. The population is made up of 12 digital immigrant journalists. To collect the information, a questionnaire was used consisting of 20 items with alternatives five (5) answers: always, almost always, sometimes, rarely and never. Applying the questionnaire the results reflect how ICT have been involved in the work life of journalists, facilitates the work within the written press because it provides tools that make the difference from those that existed years ago, electronic and portable devices are frequently used by immigrant journalists, for them the internet does not offer the same credibility as the written press, although its boom has been indisputable, the age does not limit journalists to use the technology, and to be up to date have had to educate themselves through their own means, assuming technological advances and incorporating them into their work environment, which will generate benefits for them. Finally some recommendations are made.
