File system and communication of images in a Imaging Unit
Keywords:
PACS, Imaging, Scanning, DICOMAbstract
The interpretation of images obtained by different diagnostic practices is the main activity associated with an imaging service. From the 80s, the idea has evolved to be a completely digital imaging unit. This department uses a communications network, viewing stations with storage systems , imaging acquisition and remote inside or outside the institution by treating physicians and radiologists and imagenologist. A complete system of this type is known as Communication System and Patient Image Archive (PACS, for its acronym in English). The purpose of this research is to provide the necessary components of this system, for optimum handling operations associated with the management of images, which are integrated by processes of collection, storage, visualization, standardization and communication and teleradiology.
