Integral library system under Koha platform for University Valle del Momboy

Abstract

The University Valle del Momboy counts with three (3) libraries distributed in each of their offices respectively (Estovacuy, Mirabel, Las Acacias), which carry out all their processes manually, causing delays and loss of time for those who use this service. This is why that the purpose of this research is Implement an Integrated Library System under Koha platform, which is an integrated library management open source, the same as being open source, can be adapted to any library, allowing scanning of all processes generated (Record Texts, Loans, Suspension of Service, Generate Inventories, reports and other). For this was used the methodology called Construction of Prototypes, that helps the programmer to create a model of the software to be built, it consists of six phases: Requirements Collection and Refinement, quick design, prototype construction, prototype evaluation by the customer, Refinement of Prototype and Product Engineering. Thus fulfilling the requirements requested by users, conducting the training and testing phase, as well as recording all the books that have libraries of the Universidad Valle del Momboy. A total of 8477 bibliographies concerning all locations. Thus, the system was installed on the servers of this university in the direction http://biblioteca.uvm.edu.ve. Achieving implement the system and successfully meet the proposed objectives, allowing users and a technological university with which benefit more.
