Online learning difficulties of research methodology in virtual university students: CNCI, Technological Institute of Nuevo León and University Foundation of the Andean Area

Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the online learning difficulties in students of the Research Methodology subject, from the universities: CNCI Virtual, Technological Institute of Nuevo León and University Foundation of the Andean Area, between 2021-2022. It is inserted in a non-experimental mixed investigation, since the quantitative and qualitative investigation procedures are combined, with a mixed explanatory, comparative and field design sequential design. The population to be studied are the methodology students in the universities, according to a sample of 99 study subjects, a convenience sampling was carried out and as an instrument an ad hoc questionnaire made up of 18 items, it was applied through of the survey as a technique. The learning difficulties in the students were described, in terms of the choice of research topic, the use of technology, understanding and application of content, and understanding and explanation with the teacher/tutor/coach. The results of this research lead to the establishment of other research on the training challenges in students of the research methodology subject, to overcome their difficulties in online learning. It is essential to study the competences that teachers possess in the methodological, use of technologies, comprehension, and application of content, in addition to the new roles and challenges of the teacher/tutor/coach relationship with students in online learning for comprehension.
