Abstract

Technological advances have had unprecedented exponential growth, paradoxically it has been during the last century; period when the greatest degradation of nature occurs. Highlighting that the prevailing lifestyle is focused on hedonism and consumerism, regardless of the damage they cause to the natural environment. The development of economic sectors has provided prosperity, but has also created ecological threats as evidenced by multiple scientific investigations with consequences for present and future generations. The same advances that have allowed us to manipulate and control nature have contaminated the environment, exceeding the equilibrium levels of natural resources.
